Ep 12: Documentation as Content
Document your day! That’s all it takes to produce content. It will grow your brand and audience. Here’s how—
I spent 8 minutes—only 8 minutes!!—recording a podcast on Anchor.fm/tjkelly and I had my old iPhone recording on a tripod while I did.
I documented my process of recording a podcast episode, and that documenting process resulted in more content — 2 birds with one stone.
Who says you can’t put out a podcast episode and a YouTube video every few days if they only take 8 minutes to record and publish?
You already know.
You need to produce content. You already knew that. You can document your day, to produce that content. It’s that easy.

So let’s talk about how to use documentation as content.
Gary Vee talks about this all the time: it doesn’t need to cost you a lot of time or money to produce content. You already do it every day, you’re just not leveraging it properly yet.
You’re already doing it.
Get the camera out, turn the microphone on, and record your every day activity.
Chris Smith from Curaytor has an entire podcast where he ears phone calls with his clients and staff. The phone calls were going to happen anyway, you might as well record them and get some marketing value out of them.
Record yourself. Record your day. Share your wisdom. That has value.

In 5 minutes or less: let’s talk organic social strategy for selling real estate and marketing your brand. For me, that’s all about Facebook groups.
Make a group that you own and manage. If you already have one, here’s what I recommend you do with it:
Make it about your community. It’s about the people, businesses, events, and life in your area.
Be a promoter. Be a producer. Be the local news coverage. Be a documentarian. Be everywhere.
Keep it positive. Keep it focused. Keep it local. Keep it coming.
Your group is your opportunity to establish yourself as the expert in the area, not just on real estate transactions and laws, but on what life is like in that area.
If folks have lived in your town for decades, they probably already know the things you’re going to tell them.
That’s OK. Tell them anyway. It will endear you to them. And it will make you stick out in their mind.
Not to mention the folks who are not from your area. You will be their first point of contact.
Ep 2: Getting started with Video Marketing for Real Estate
In 5 minutes or less— today we talk all about making videos for your real estate marketing, and the lessons learned from getting started.
Use iMovie (or the PC equivalent). It’s super easy to get started.
You can use Keynote or Powerpoint to add black “letterbox” bars to your video.
Share the video far and wide! It took me about an hour, start to finish.

Go to Facebook Ads Manager / Audiences / Create Audience
Select Engagement / Video
Choose a view metric.
I picked 95%. Also toying with a 25% audience. You can use organic content to create this audience! This whole process of creating an audience cost me ZERO DOLLARS, and about 2 hours total.
